Brushing at least twice a day.
Help your child brush their teeth, make it fun or a game. Brush your teeth together. Talk to them about your teeth, do you have cavities? Tell them about your experience. Never put a child to sleep without brushing after drinking juice, soda, milk or breast milk. All of these contain sugar! Make teeth brushing apart of your bedtime routine.

Read labels avoid sugar snacks and juices.
Watering down juices can decrease the amount of sugar in each cup. Avoid stick gooey candy that sticks to the teeth, like fruit roll-up, gummy bears, Jolly Ranchers, and fruit snack

Visit us every 6 months.
Teeth cleaning regularly by our trained staffed can help fight cavities. Plus catching a problem earlier is always easier and less expensive to correct.

(KTVI) – If you don’t brush your teeth, it can lead to bad teeth and gum disease. Besides looking bad, it can also cause many other health issues such as heart valve damage in all ages.

That’s why one group plans a free dental clinic a week from this Friday and Saturday. Dr. Craig Hollander of Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills explains.

Eligible children include toddlers thru 8th grade students who qualify for Medicaid or free school lunch programs may participate. Children must preregistered to attend.

It takes place Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Saint Louis University`s Center for Advanced Dental Education.

On Friday the clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
